2017 Chevrolet Colorado Scheduled to arrive Later this Year

The Chevy Colorado is one of hottest selling vehicle for the automaker. To keep the fans enthralled, Chevrolet has enhanced the truck for 2017 model year with a new V-6 engine and an eight-speed automatic gearbox.

The chief engineer for the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado, Stan Ludlow believes the combination of a new V-6 engine and the eight-speed automatic transmission system will not only optimize the performance but also improve the fuel economy. The Colorado is already the most fuel efficient pickup truck in America and with the new improved variable valve timing and direct injection system, Chevrolet plans to further boost the fuel economy rating.

Stan also maintains that the drivers will notice a big change in 2017 Colorado’s acceleration, especially when going uphill or cruising at a steady speed on the highway.

With the new powertrain, the 2017 Chevrolet Colorado will now deliver 308 horsepower (previously 305 horsepower) and 275 pound-feet of torque. The new and improved gearbox, known as Hydra-Matic 8L45, has the same weight and size as the gearbox used in 2016 model; however, the Hydra-Matic 8L45 boasts a wider gear ratio of 7.0.

We are still unaware about the price of 2017 Chevrolet Colorado, but we know it will arrive sometime later this year.
