We all know how fast the Bugatti Veyron was, but what does the new Bugatti Chiron has to offer? Well for starters, we can tell it will churn out a mighty 1,500 horsepower and the automaker will only create 500 units of the new Chiron and out of that 130 have already been booked.
What we didn’t know was that a Czech car magazine MagazínProDriver CZ recently interviewed one of the future owners of the Bugatti Chiron who revealed the powertrain specifications.
According to the owner, the Bugatti Chiron will be powered by the same 16 cylinder engine found in the Veyron, however it has been tweaked to produce 300 more horsepower bumping it to 1,500 hp and a stunning 1,100 lb-ft. (1,500 Nm) of torque. But what’s more interesting is that the Chiron can sprint from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.2 seconds, with a top speed of 290 mph (467 km/h). This makes it 0.5 second quicker than the Veyron.
The previous information suggested that the price will be around $2.5 million, but now the source tells us that it will cost approximately $2.2 million (€2 million).
