Porsche Unveils 2013 911 Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S

Porsche has been rated among the top vehicle manufacturers in the United States and now the company has made an announcement of the new Porsche 911 Carrera 4 which is the seventh generation Carrera and combines all the technologies and features of the previous versions. Porsche said that like all typical Carrera models this one will also have all wheel drive system that will focus on rear bias to ensure superior performance. The company said that most of the Carrera models have rear bias that provides maximum vehicle dynamics on all kinds of road surfaces and in all kinds of weather.

Porsche has decided that they will launch the new version in four different versions, 911 Carrera 4 Coupe, 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet, 911 Carrera 4S Coupe and 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet. The company revealed that although they are different they all have certain traits that make them the same. For instance, all the four versions will have lightweight body design, engines, suspensions and gearboxes. However, what sets them apart from each other is the modifications that are made to all wheel drive technology.

Porsche also reveal that although all the four models will have a higher engine than the previous models but they will consume less fuel to make it more fuel efficient. All the models will save 16% more fuel than the previous models since all the models will be 65 kilos less than the previous 911 Carrera C4. When it comes to performance all the vehicles are almost identical to each other. All the vehicles have the same seven speed manual gearbox which is standard but customers do have the option of Porsche Doppelkupplung seven speed gearbox as an option.

The Coupe version will have 3.4 liter flat six engine that can produce 350 horsepower and can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds and has a top track sped of 177 mph. On the other hand, Cabriolet version will have the same engine but will accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and has a top track speed of 175 mph. On the other hand, Porsche will incorporate 3.8 liter rear mounted boxer engine in both Carrera 4S Coupe and Cabriolet that can produce 400 horsepower and 4S Coupe can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds while 4S Cabriolet will accelerate in 4.1 seconds. Carrera 4S Coupe has a top track speed of 185 mph while Cabriolet version has 183 mph. All the models will launch in North America markets by early 2013 and 911 Carrera 4 Coupe will have a base price of $91,030 and Cabriolet will have a base price of $102,930. On the other hand, 911 Carrera 4S Coupe will have a base price of $105,630 and Carrera 4S Cabriolet will have a base price of $117,530.
