The exterior of both the smartphones have lustrous brushed stainless steel frame and high gloss glass weave back plate. Both the Bold smartphones are 10.5 mm thick which makes them the thinnest smartphones that Blackberry has developed.

For top performance Blackberry has come up with new performance driven platform with 1.2 GHz processor, Liquid Graphics touch screen. Both the Bold smartphones can perform on 4G and HSPA+ wide area wireless networks. The Liquid Graphics touch screen along with Blackberry 7 operating system makes it easier for the users to browse internet and to navigate from one option to another when they are navigating through options. It also has in-built NFC that will enable users to use their Bold smartphones like NFC readers. It has a magnetometer to support location based services and augmented reality. The smartphone also support 720p HD video recording and playback.
