When it comes to beauty products, being a woman is great. Even though it’s not technically spring yet, the temperature is rising and you must be itching to clear out the old and bring in the new. Spring is the season of renewal – it’s time to make some shifts in the beauty routine, throwing away things that should have been tossed long ago, and sorting through your beauty products to revamp your beauty regime and refresh your style.

Every beauty house from Estée Lauder to Givenchy to Chanel to Tves Saint Laurent, to Elizabeth Arden is vying with each other to give you new products that will help you transition from the gloomy winter into the first moments of spring.  They are looking at Spring 2011 as the celebration of brights – being vibrant and colorful, using a whole spectrum of bright colors as opposed to the minimalism and neutrality of the season gone by. Bright lips, day-to-night nails and iridescent eyes round out the season’s top beauty trends.

Best Beauty Products

On that note, just sit back and get inspired by the best beauty products 2011 from our list of must-have beauty buys.  The best part is that even the top beauty houses today bring out reasonably priced products.

Note: Prices may vary depending on where you’re getting the products from.

Blush Gelée in Candide Pink ($33) by Givenchy

You’re sure to be intrigued by this new application for blusher. A cool soft textured jelly is dispensed through a sponge, so you just have to dot it on your cheeks and blend for a beautiful face-illuminating pop of color.  This one naturally wears like you have nothing on. The color is buildable and it is perfect to be used by itself set with some light powder, or under any liquid or powder foundation. The size is large and it comes in a 1 oz liquid tube just like foundation.  People who have used it say that it works well on oily skin too. People seem to love the fuzzy and soft applicator.  This bright blush is perfect for spring.  You may want to get this as soon as possible, as it is a limited edition product.

Powder Blush in Overdyed and Pink Cult ($18.50) by MAC Cosmetics

It’s hard to walk away from a beauty product by MAC. The Overdyed blush is a bright magenta color and comes in a standard MAC portable compact that is lightweight plastic with a see-through lid.  Pink Cult is quite a unique color dusty rose/baby pink blush, and is more natural looking.  It looks pale but when applied, it’s perfect on most skin tones, but it looks exceptional with yellow toned skin. MAC’s website shows that it is already sold out.  But you can try and get it at your local store.  With smooth matt finish and good pigmentation, both the blushes build well and blend with the skin.

Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Color Balm ($15) by Clinique

This is a tinted and nourishing lip balm that uses natural ingredients, such as shea butter and mango.  The stick almost looks like a marker.

There are eight natural-looking tints: Graped-Up, Super Strawberry, Woppin’ Watermelon, Chunky Cherry, Mega Melon, Fuller Fig, Whole Lotta Honey and Richer Raisin. Woppin’ Watermelon is a sheer pink that will complement fair and dark skin tones.

With a subtle sheen, this lip balm is a cross between a lipstick and gloss.  The formula is smooth and glides on your lips but is not sticky or waxy.  If you don’t want to use lipstick during the day in spring and summer, this is a wonderful option and you will find that the color is more subtle than lipstick but just enough with good staying power.  It hydrates and moisturizes your lips, and prevents them from chapping.

Sheen Supreme Lipstick ($14.50) by M.A.C.

Drawing attention to your lips is never a bad thing. The glossy, sheer lipstick looks were all over Fashion Week and MAC, which usually has some of the best beauty products, came out with the Sheen Supreme Lipstick collection.  This comes in a variety of colors and is said to melt on the lips and keep them hydrated. They come highly recommended if you want a layerable and glossy lip color that offers the impact of a lipstick and the transparency of a gloss.  A must-have according to the reviews!

If you don’t like the made up look, this is it!

Terracotta Serum  ($59) by Guerlain

If you’re into tanning products, Guerlain Terracotta collection for spring/summer is out.  This serum is a wonderful tan-booster concentrate that is said to activate and prolong a tan, by using natural extracts from the carob tree.  The carob tree is known to help achieve that warm-weather glow. You simply have to add a couple of drops to your favorite skin care lotion. Of course, you should not forget that even a tanning lotion needs to be used with a good SPF.

Baked Eye Color Palette ($36) by Laura Mercier

This new eye-color formula by Laura Mercier features baked technology. Women who have used these colors can’t seem to say enough good things about them.  If you’re looking for a nice glow for spring, Ballet Pink may just be what you’re looking for! Whether you choose to apply them dry for a natural look or wet for a dramatic look, they are smudge-resistant, lightweight and easily buildable.

Smoky Black Topcoat “Rock Coat” ($33.99) by Dior

The Dior Vernis Rock Your Nails Collection comes in five excellent shades along with a Rock Coat Topcoat. This is a limited edition beauty product that is predicted to be a sellout.  It is meant to be a top coat of whatever shade of polish you wear. The semi-transparent black formula coats the nail varnish with a sheer veil of smoky gunmetal, increasing shine and extending wear.  It’s called “rock” because your nail polish takes on an enchanting “rock” look.  It is said to work well over darker shades.

Skin Genesis Complexion Equalizer ($19.99) by L’Oreal

Winter may be fun but the dark winter days leave behind dull and sallow skin for many.  This product from L’Oreal brightens the skin with vitamin C, salicylic acid and pink tourmalines. Most people experienced a change in their skin tone – smoother and even-toned within a few weeks.  But this may not be for you if you have oily skin and tend to breakout.

Daisy Eau So Fresh Perfume for Women ($70) by Marc Jacobs

If you’ve used Marc Jacob’s massively popular Daisy fragrance, Eau So Fresh is its spirited new version and one of the must-have beauty products this spring.  This one is actually a fruity reinterpretation of the original Daisy scent, and is designed to appeal to a younger consumer.  Who says the “young at heart” cannot use it?  Fondly described as charming, Eau So Fresh is playful with notes of raspberry, lychee, grapefruit, wild rose, and sensuous violet, with a base of plum-cedarwood-musk. A perfect transition into the spring season with a cute flower bouquet-like bottle!  If you want people to stop and inquire about what perfume you’re wearing, get this one.

It doesn’t matter what your beauty needs are this spring; there are plenty of options to choose from!  There are more beauty products out there than we women could possibly try. Revel in bright lip colors, eye colors, pretty blushes and nail polishes that have just been released.
