BMW I have always come up with something innovative and this time at the CES 2015 Las Vegas BMW I have introduced BMW I Home Charging Services from their 360 Degree Electric portfolio. The entire model is based on the smart home-enabled BMW I Wallbox Pro system that was earlier presented by BMW. This works perfectly for home charging of electric and plug-in BMW hybrid models.
Using the new model, hybrid car owners can charge the cars using home-generated solar power. This allows the owners to actually save more money as they don’t need to spend more on utility bills. The entire system is fully automated and therefore customers only have to make sure that they understand the simple charging system. This certainly puts BMW on the forefront as they are first automakers that have come up with such EV smart charging product. BMW said that they aim to make mobility cheaper while maximizing the use of green power which is clean and freely available.
