The Hottest 2022 Video Games Released So Far

Sometimes, the day can seem particularly long. You get up bright and early to get into the gym, then race through a shower in order to get to work on time. You work all day long, whether that means filing documents or repairing a chimney, like those at Brickworks Property Restoration, only to come home ready to crash on the couch. You need a way to relax, to wash away the stress of the day.

What better way to do that than by diving into a good video game? They allow you to interact with your friends online or get lost in a great story in a way that can’t be done in any other medium. If you’re looking for something good to play this weekend, here are some of the most popular games that have been recently released.

Elden Ring

If your idea of clearing away stress is by playing something so difficult that you have to stop and wonder if you’ll even be able to beat it, then this might be the game for you. FromSoftware, the creators behind games like Dark Souls, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Demon’s Souls, and Bloodborne, have gone all out with their latest creation, Elden Ring. It brings together everything they’ve learned in past games to create a hybrid masterpiece; the stealth of Sekiro, the creative bosses of Bloodborne—and pretty much every other FromSoftware game—and the feel of Dark Souls, all dropped into an open world.

Dying Light 2: Stay Human

The original Dying Light was released way back in 2016, so fans have been eagerly anticipating the sequel for quite some time. The follow-up improves the game on nearly every front: better story, more things to do, and the same thrilling parkour mechanics. There’s nothing quite like navigating the city by running along walls, leaping across rooftops, and sailing through the sky with paragliders over a horde of endless zombies. If you skipped out on the first one, it’s worth giving the sequel a try.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen

Guardians have been wielding the space magic they call The Light since 2014, but the franchise is still kicking. While not every Destiny DLC has been a knockout hit for the series, its latest edition seems to have made some much-needed quality of life improvements. Weapon crafting, an engaging story, super overhauls, new weapons, and much, much more are included in The Witch Queen. If you’ve never played Destiny before, now is the time to give it a try.

Get to Gaming!

If you’re on the lookout for a new video game to play, these are among the hottest games that have come out in 2022 so far. None of these seem like your style? Don’t worry, there’s still a lot of the year left, and with massive titles like Starfield and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Hearts of Chernobyl on the horizon, 2022 looks to be a solid year for the gaming community.
